1. They are full of Potassium.

Many studies show that bananas are full of health benefits. It is commonly known that bananas are rich in Potassium. Research has shown that daily intake of potassium (aka bananas) can cut your risk for having a stroke up to 40% (source). I drink at least one smoothie a day, and always use a banana. Maybe the saying should be a banana a day keeps the doctor away!

2. They have their own wrapper.

Bananas are one of my favorite foods because they naturally come with their own wrapper. This makes them easy to eat in the car, on-the-go, or practically anywhere. When I’m in a hurry, I always grab a banana and stick it in my purse. Bananas are one of nature's finest candies, and way better/healthier than a jolly rancher any day!

3. Bananas are great for energy boosts & workouts.

Bananas are full of many vital nutrients. They are full of carbohydrates, natural sugars, fiber, and antioxidants. One study states that bananas may provide good nutrition and support during intensive and prolonged exercise (source). Before exercise try drinking a banana smoothie, or just eat one!

4. Bananas are great for nourishing your skin.

After you enjoy a delicious banana, take the inside of the peel and rub it on your face. (I admit it sounds strange, but give it a try!) Let it dry and wash it off.  You can even sleep with it and wash it off the next day. Your skin will feel super soft & smooth! It is amazing what a banana mask can do for your skin.

5. Bananas improve your mood & stress.

Bananas are sweet for a couple of reasons. First, they taste good; and second, they make you feel good! Bananas can help your mood and stress levels. They contain a protein called tryptophan - your body digests the tryptophan from the banana and converts it into serotonin. Serotonin is commonly known to make you feel happier, relax, calm down, and decrease stress (source). If you're feeling wound up before bed, try having a banana or two!
