Food (Story 5)

In high school, I was a competitive cheerleader. I had practice nearly everyday, football games on Friday nights, and competitions on weekends. I was quite active with a huge appetite. My team and I would eat at In N Out, Taco Bell, and other fast food joints on a regular basis. Once a week we would drive about an hour away for gymnastics practice, on our way home is when we would stop at In N Out. I would always order two, yes TWO, double-doubles and animal style fries and eat it all. I even won the food eating contest one summer at cheer camp. I have always, and will always, love food. It's a huge part of who I am. I am the type of person who does not eat to live, I live to eat! Anyone who knew me prior to being vegan, thought I was crazy when I first went vegan, or wouldn't stick with it, because of my love for food. However, I proudly like to tell everyone that I LOVE food and APPRECIATE food so much more now that I am a vegan. I know where my food comes from, and that no other living being had to die for me to eat. I know that I could drive 10 SUVs and my carbon footprint would still be significantly less than a carnivores. I know that by being vegan I am doing my best to help California in this terrible drought. I know that by being vegan, I am living a compassionate life. I hope by sharing this story with you, you learn something about me, who I am, and why I am vegan today. I agree that a love for food only grows bigger when eating vegan! You have a great attitude. Eat a ton. Be healthy. Save the animals. Vegan is winning!
